Smithsonian Exhibit in Arlington

Arlington Museum of Art is hosting a Smithsonian exhibit of "William H. Johnson: "An American Modern". 20 years ago, Paula Pierson envisioned the museum hosting a Smithsonian exhibit. Now her son, Chris Hightower, executive director of the museum has brought these works of Johnson as a modernist painter to our wonderful city. The exhibit runs through August 25th. Living Science Center at River Legacy is Having a Makeover

A makeover is underway at the popular Living Science Center at River Legacy Park that will include two 800 gallon aquariums for native species. Also included will be a forest habitat displaying 6 terrariums, a replica of dinosaur fossils found in Arlington and native American artifacts. Work is expected to be completed by May 23rd. The Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts in Arlington presents 50 free outdoor concerts a year with a broad-based concert calendar of professional musical artists, from world music to jazz and country to children’s artists. Summer 2013 concerts run May 24 - July 14th.
